How to study Computer Graphics — Semester III, Pokhara University BECE
What it covers
Fundamentals of computer graphics: display devices, line and circle drawing algorithms, 2D and 3D transformations, viewing and clipping, projections, hidden surface removal, shading, and OpenGL.
Topics worth extra time
- Line and circle drawing algorithms (DDA, Bresenham, midpoint)
- 2-D transformations with homogeneous coordinates, and composite transformations
- Clipping algorithms (Cohen–Sutherland, Liang–Barsky, polygon clipping)
- 3-D transformations and projections
- Visible surface detection, illumination and shading models
How to study it
Trace each algorithm on a small grid by hand, writing out every pixel or step, then implement it in C or C++ with a graphics library. For transformations, practise building the composite matrix in the right order and applying it to points.
In the exam
Algorithm questions expect a full step table for the given input. Write matrices clearly, state the order of multiplication, and verify the final coordinates.
